Find the elastic pieces. You will have two pieces of elastic for each side of your bra band. The elastic will be shorter than the band. Slightly overlap the elastic over the band and use tailor pins to pin together one band with one piece of elastic. Continue to pin and stretch until you have stretched the elastic to the size of the band. Repeat with the next piece of band and elastic.
Place the band on the throat plate and make your first line of stitching in a narrow zigzag pattern along the area where the elastic overlaps the band.
Place the right bra cup right-side up cheap lingerie. Stretch the bra band and the left portion of the bra out of the way. Align the cup stitching to the stitching on the channeling. Use tailor pins to hold the channeling throughout the center front seam, side seam and lower cup. Leave 1/3 inch of channeling loose at each end. Place the cup on the throat plate, draw the needle to the inside edge of the channeling. Check stitch by lightly pulling the channeling to make sure the stitch is tight. Repeat with the left bra cup.
Insert the underwire into the channeling. Center the bra on the throat plate and close the channeling with a satin stitch. This will secure the underwire. Cut the rest of the extra channeling.
Get fitted. Padded bras are designed to add at least a cup size to your true size. Unless you over-pad the cups, wearing a bigger bra will not make your breasts look larger, and could actually make them appear awkward and unnatural.
Choose your style. Avoid bras with square-cut tops. This style will make breasts look flat. Instead, opt for demi bras or bras that plunge in the front for maximum cleavage and breast definition. Your goal should be to make your breasts look one or two cup sizes larger. Cotton bras and inserts are an option, but they tend to make breasts appear stiff and motionless. For a more natural look, try silicone-, water- or gel-filled bras and inserts. They are designed to mimic the look and movement of natural breasts.
